About Me

I'm just a small town girl that has lived in Utah her entire life. I grew up in Lehi, UT and was very involved in athletics. I ran track and cross country in high school and loved every minute of it. I absolutely love dogs and the only reason I chose to go into nursing rather than veterinary school is because it would break my heart to care for a sick animal. I married my best friend in 2015 and we moved down to Cedar City, UT to start our life together. I currently attend Southern Utah University and am in their nursing program, which has been one of the best experiences of my life! I also currently work as a Health Unit Coordinator in the Emergency Department at Cedar City Hospital, which has been absolutely amazing! It has prepared me in so many ways to become a nurse. I look forward for what all life has to bring!

Why I Want To Be A Nurse

Back in 2012, I went on a backpacking trip in the Uinta Mountains with my older brother. We were on day two of our three day trip when a storm rolled in and without warning my brother was struck by lightening about 20 feet in front of me. He collapsed and was not breathing. I ended up having to preform CPR on him in order for him to begin breathing again, and it was after this experience that I realized that I wanted to go into the healthcare profession. I knew that if I could keep my head clear enough to save my brother, I could do it for a perfect stranger, and that I wanted to help save people. That moment changed my life and I truly believe that I am on the right path.
